Church Covenant
Having been led as we believe, by the spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,we do now, in the presence of God and this assembly most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

We engage therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk together in brotherly love; to strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge, Holiness and comfort; to promote its spirituality and prosperity; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, to visit the homeless, the sick and those in prison, and the continued spread of the gospel throughout all nations.

We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and our acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger; to abstain from the sale of, and the use of intoxicating drinks, as a beverage; to be zealous in our efforts to advance the Kingdom of our Savior.

We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; to give respect to one another, in feeling and in our speech; to cultivate the believer; responsible for abiding by the two Great Commandments, to accept the entire word in our life as the guide; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the commandments, statutes, judgments and laws of our Savior, to secure without delay.

If the situation or circumstances (such as death, marriage or job transfers) require that we move, we will seek guidance from our shepherd to be united in a church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

VWe believe the bible to be the inspired, the only infallible Word of God; we believe it in its entirety
(2 Timothy 3:16)

VWe believe that there is one God (Isaiah 45:22), eternally existent in three persons (The Trinity) Father, Son and The Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14, 1 John 5:7)

VWe believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His sinless life (John 3:16), in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection (1 Peter 2:21-24), in His Ascension to the right hand of the Father where He reigns as King, and in His personal return to earth in power and glory (Colossians 3:1, Ephesians 1:20-23, Acts 1:11)

VWe believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, spiritual regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential, and that salvation is received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as Messiah, Saviour and Lord, and not as a result of good works (Acts 17:30, Romans 10:9)

VWe believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a sanctified, godly life, and to perform service pleasing to the Lord (Romans 15:16, John 14:16-17)

VWe believe in private and public prayer as a relational privilege of grace and as an opportunity and responsibility to participate with God in the accomplishing of his eternal purposes in Christ (Daniel 6:10, Matthew 6:6, Matthew 6:9-13)

VWe believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost (Acts 24:15); the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life (1 Timothy 6:12), and the lost unto the resurrection of eternal damnation (John 5:29, Ecclesiastes 12:7)

VWe believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (John 4:24, Proverbs 20:27)

VWe believe in separation from the world (2 Corinthians 6:17)

VWe believe in music (the singing and playing of instruments) (Psalms 150)

VWe believe in Godly or Holiness dancing (1 Samuel 6:14) or shouting (Isaiah 12:6, Zephaniah 3:14, Zechariah 9:9) and rejoicing in the Spirit (Psalms 149:3)

VWe believe in PRAISING GOD with our lips, hands and feet (Hebrews 13:15)

VWe believe in the indwelling and receiving of the Holy Spirit and the evidence of His presence by the speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:4)

VWe believe in the water baptism by complete submersion and that it must be done in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19)

VWe believe in giving of the first fruits of our labor in tithes and offerings (Malachi 3:8-10)

VWe believe that we must love God whole-heartedly and our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39)
